With the reform of listening part in College English Test Band Four （CET-4）, the traditional listening teaching mode can hardly meet CET-4 requirements for students＇ listening abil-ity, which is more of a challenge for CET-4 listening teaching in independent colleges. This paper will explore the improvement of methods and styles for CET-4 listening teaching, and analyze the characteristics of students of independent colleges, in order to make CET-4 listening teaching more targeted.
