An Analysis on Women's Education in Plato's The Republic

在古代东西方的教育家中,柏拉图是为数不多的论及女性教育的教育家之一。他第一个表示男女具有同样禀赋,首次提出男女教育平等思想。通过分析柏拉图的女性教育思想和缺陷,汲取其思想的合理部分,为中国当代女性教育发展提供借鉴。

Plato is one of the few educators who deal with women’s education, whether in the east or in the west. He, the first, claims that men and women have the same genius, proposes the education equality between men and women. By means of the analysis on his women education thoughts and the defects, the paper shows the reasonable part of his thoughts to provide reference for contemporary women education development in our country.
