XU Te-li And the Interim Committee of Hunan Education Administration Conference

1926年7月北伐军占领湖南后,湖南省教育司改为教育厅。该厅随即成立湖南教育行政会议临时委员会,作为湖南的教育决策机关。徐特立因在湖南教育界的卓著影响,不仅被聘为该委员会委员,并被推举为主席团主席,于7月30日委员会成立至8月27日闭会期间,参与并多次主持召开会议、担任主要文稿的拟写者,先后议决了湖南大学组织大纲、县教育机关组织办法及学校新旧经费解决办法等重要议案,比较妥善地促成了相关事务的处理,对当时湖南教育秩序的稳定发挥了重要作用。

After the northern expeditionary army occupied Hunan in July 1926, Hunan Provincial Education Department came into being. Soon the interim committee of hunan education administration conference was established as education decision- making authority in Hunan. Due to XU Te- li’s distinguished influence in education field in Hunan, not only was he hired as the commissioner, but he also was elected chairman of the committee. During the session from July 30 to August 27, XU participated in the meetings and chaired some meetings and joined in writing some documents. Such important bills as the outline of Hunan university organizations, county education authority organizations and the solutions to old and new funding of schools had been accepted. XU contributed to dealing with related affairs properly and successfully, which has played an important role in the stability of Hunan education.
