在当今美国,政府与非政府组织之间更多采取的是合作和补充的伙伴关系。美国公民普遍对非政府组织给予高度的信任。在基层社区,非政府组织为公民提供的服务往往是直接而有力的,因此与政府提供的服务相比,有部分美国公民甚至更为喜欢非政府组织提供的服务。所以美国政府在许多服务项目上,比如卫生、慈善和社会服务方面都非常依赖非政府组织。而在基础设施的建设和维修等公共问题上,如果政府和非政府组织能够对此进行商讨,提出最佳的解决方案,往往可以收到更好的效果。

Nowadays, in America the relationship between the government and non-governmental organizations is cooperative and complementary partnership. Generally American citizens highly trust the non-governmental organizations. In the community, non-governmental organizations provide services for citizens directly and powerfully. To compare with the services provided by the government, some US citizens even more like the services provided by non-governmental organizations. So in many service projects the United States government is heavily dependent on the non government organization, such as health, charity and social services. It can get better effect if the government and non-governmental organizations can discuss and put forward the best solution on the problems of the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure.
