On the Value Functions of " Eminent Person Promotion" School ——Hero-Model Reportage Literature——Seventh Treatise of the Study of Reportage Schools

"人杰宣传"派——英模报告文学是遭受非议最多,甚至影响对报告文学整体评价的流派之一。实际上,一切文学都是宣传,文学不能脱离政治和缺少歌颂,问题是为什么样的政治和怎样为政治进行"宣传",歌颂什么和怎样歌颂;英模报告文学同样有干预现实的功能,只不过不是从反面进行否定、抨击,而是侧重从正面进行肯定、提倡和引导。它的"政治"、"宣传"有主动迎合与独立思考之别,在官方意志(主流意识)与民间立场、主体倾向与艺术效果的统一上有完美、和谐与顾此失彼之分。新时期以来,它不再紧跟"中心",而注重将主旋律与多样化有机融合,在"政治"、"宣传"中挖掘传统文化精华与弘扬民族精神。它所挖掘和"宣传"的典型,必将对改善与提升民族素质、推进社会的精神文明建设,进一步发挥积极、有效作用。

Among the schools, ＂ eminent person promotion＂, or hero-model reportage, incites most criticism, which even incurs skepticism on the values of reportage as a whole. In fact, all literature is by nature promotion as no literature can get rid of politics and praise. The question is for what politics and how,as well as praising what and how. Like other genre, hero-model reportage certainly intervenes the realities,only that it does it through positive affirmation, promotion and guidance instead of negative denial or attack.In terms of the ＂ politics＂ and ＂ promotion＂ of reportage, there are differences between power-catering and independent meditation, between good and poor integration of official wills and civil stands, and between harmony and overlapping of mainstream ideologies and aesthetic effects. In recent age, the reportage literature ceases to follow closely the ＂ center＂; instead, it concerns with integrating mainstream melody with diversities and exploring traditional cultural quintessences and national spirits in the agenda of ＂politics＂ and ＂ promotion＂. In this respect, its exploration and ＂ promotion＂ of model person will be helpful for improving China＇s national quality and furthering the country＇s social spirit construction.
