How do we listen English？ What should we pay attention to when listening？ What can we obtain？ All these are important for adult English learners as they could improve listening efficiently. This paper mainly discusses fac- tors influencing listening, analyzes the process of listening, and gives some examples about listening practice and im- provement. By analyzing the process of adult listening ESL, the author draws some guidance to efficiently improve listening comprehension in different environment, such as in college, at work, or in community communication.
