Philippe Sollers has been, since the 1960 s,a central figure of the French literary scene, and he keeps exploring and pondering upon French literature.Chinese culture has such a deep influence on Sollers'swriting that references to Chinese characters,Chinese classical poetry and Taoism are extremely common in his works.Inspired by Chinese culture,Sollers challenged the limits of French writing and carried out audacious innovations in his own literary creation.Although the references to China in his early works may seem slightly abrupt,by combining the borrowings with the text more tightly,a veritable dialogue has been established between East and West in Sollers's writing after the 1980 s.
