Taking the cost department of architectural design institute as the research object,through the SWOT analysis,this paper illustrated the cost department had high vision,wide vision,convenient communication with designers and other advantages,and discussed the lower practical ability,poor cost control ability and other disadvantages,at the same time researched the opportunity and threat of cost department in competitive environment,had important significance for cost department to make corresponding development strategies.
