The major approaches in current eco-translatology are to apply the research findings in ecology to re-interpret the translation act in an all-round way, namely, the term "ecology" is not used in its real sense but in a metaphorical manner. This paper will provide a new perspective for eco-translatology by using "ecology" in its real sense. Thus ecological translation is defined as how to convey the views of nature in the original text into its translation. The focus will be laid on analyzing Ernest Fenollosa ' s traditional Eastern organismic nature-oriented translation thoughts and Ezra Pound ' s application of ideogrammic method to Chinese-English poetry translation practice. The study can help highlight the ecological value of the traditional Chinese concept of nature and its practice significance for current society beset with ecological crises.
