Simmel's View on the Conflict between Life and Money as a Cultural Form

西美尔作为生命哲学的代表哲学家重视我们最原初、最整体的和创造性的生命,他认为生命与其所创造出来的固化了形式之间存在着矛盾的张力关系。货币作为一种文化形式以自身的标准和规范同化了整个世界,从而带来了人与人之间的疏远、单一化和平均化等问题,使人们丧失了自身的主体精神和生命。西美尔试图用生命的自我拯救来重新获得生命与世界之间的统一关系,用生命内在之崇高及超越反抗现实中的沉沦。

As the philosopher of life philosophy,Simmel pays attention to our most primitive and most holistic and creative life.He believes that in the relationship between life and the forms created by life there exists a tension of contradiction.Money as a cultural form of its own standards and norms assimilates the whole world,which has brought alienation,simplification and equalization problems between people,so that people lose their main subject spirit and life.Simmel tries to save the life of the self by self-salvation in order to regain unity between life and the world,while resisting degradation in the reality through the inner loftiness of life and transcendence.
