认为"对外汉语教学的学科性质是一种第二语言或外语教学"是对的。但这种表述更像是一种类比、一个归类,并没有揭示出对外汉语教学的本质属性。从学科研究对象和目的这个维度来说,对外汉语教学是一门应用学科。从其存在价值来看,对外汉语教学是一门工具学科。从其构成要素来看,工具性和交际性都是对外汉语教学的本质属性,但偏重交际性。二者紧密联系。
It is right to ond or foreign languag consider ' Discipline Attribute of Teaching Chinese to Foreigners is a kind of sece'. But the description is more like to be classified and does not reveal essential attributes of Teaching Chinese to Foreigners. Judging from the researching object and purpose of the subject, Teaching Chinese to Foreigners is an applied discipline. It is an instrumental discipline in terms of its value. Instrumentality and communicativeness are its essential attributes in the eyes of its basic ele- ments, laying particular stress on communicativeness. Two parts tie closely at the same time.
