No. 1 Hydraulic turbine generator units of CH power station have been operated for 38 years. Due to many times of repairing welding and polishing to the runner chamber,it makes the surface of the runner chamber change the shape,and causes the lower operating efficiency of generator units. After verification,the Hydraulic turbine generator units have been decided to reconstruct as well as the runner chamber. This report demonstrates the circumstances of reconstructing for No. 1 Runner Chamber of CH power station by using theoretical analysis and particular case approach. For detailed analysis,the removal of old runner chamber,operation processes and technical points for installing the new runner chamber,and the methods of quality control management have been analyzed in detail. Finally the runner chamber has been successfully constructed with achieving the title of ＂Excellent＂ for installation quality. It provides the references to reconstruction of other generator units for CH power station or similar projects in the industry.
