A Memetic Study of “HEN + NP” Combination

模因论是解释文化进化规律的新理论,其中的模因实际上指文化基因,它靠模仿传播而生存,语言是它的载体之一。模因有利于语言的发展,而模因本身也靠语言得以复制和传播。"很+名词"这一语言变异现象,从开始遭到批判,到人们使用的增多,再到人们普遍地接受、复制和传播,成为强势模因,说明语言的变异是不可避免的。语言正是语言模因经过不断变异而丰富和发展起来的。

Memetics is a new theory for interpreting cultural evolution. Memes are genes of culture,existing as cultural replicators propagated through imitation; language is one form of their carriers. Memes benefit the development of language,and at the same time they depend on the language to get themselves replicated and transmitted. ＂HEN ＋ NP＂combination is a kind of language variation. Based on the concepts of memetics and the life cycle of memes,this paper analyzes the origin,replication and transmission of ＂HEN ＋ NP＂combination. It further explores the reasons of its becoming a successful meme and points out that language variation will help to promote the language evolution and its development.
