王世贞文学观三辩

Three Debates on Wang Shizhen's Literature View

王世贞是明代复古派盟主,虽然在明代后期已经遭到袁宏道等人的批判,但仍被陈子龙等人赞扬和追随。然而到了清代以至于近代,对王世贞的认识大都持否定态度。明清两代不同的声音应如何倾听,我们又应如何看待王世贞?通过对王世贞的《弇州山人四部稿》、《续稿》的多篇序文以及清代的《列朝诗集小传》、《明史·王世贞传》的对读,明清两代对王世贞晚年转变问题、复古问题及辞藻问题的不同认识也展现在我们面前。

Wang Shizhen is the the retro faction leader in Ming Dynasty. Though he was criticized by Yuan Hongdao and others in the late Ming Dynasty,he was still followed and praised by Chen Zilong et al. From the Qing Dynasty to modern times,there are most negative attitudes toward Wang Shizhen. Through the preface of Wang Shizhen’s The Four Manuscripts of Yanzhou and The Sequel to the Manuscript by the Mountain Man of Yanzhou and the comparison of The Brief Biographies of Poem Collection of Liechao with Biography of Wang Shizhen in History of the Ming Dynasty,we can realize the different understanding on the changes in Wang’s later life,rhetoric and retro style
