This paper introduced the meaning of the plant ployploid and the advantages of polyploid induction in in vitro conditions. The factors related to the rate of induction and the identification methods about plant ployploid were summa- rized. It also discussed the application potential of polyploid induction in Jatropha curcas L breeding.
