With the development of market and the improvement of people＇s living quality, modern industrial product design is more and more complicated. Most complex surfaces are processed by plane materials, the approximate development of undevelopable surfaces has become the important subject of industrial design. In this paper, the approximate development algorithms of undevelopable surfaces in recent twenty years are analyzed, summarized and concluded.
