摘要
一名合格的口译员须具备扎实的语言基本功,应能同时精通源语和目的语。现今国内多所高校已获批设立翻译硕士(MTI)专业学位点,但其生源普遍体现出令人担忧的母语水平。文章剖析导致学生母语水平普遍欠佳的原因并探讨母语能力欠缺会对口译质量造成的严重影响,认为应在翻译硕士(MTI)口译教学过程中重视和加强汉语修养,并提出具体对策。
A qualified interpreter must have a solid foundation of basic language skills, and should master both source language and target language. The proficiency in native language displayed by students pursuing MTI is worrying. This paper probes into the causes of the unsatisfactory mother tongue proficiency of MTI students and analyzes the effects of poor mother tongue proficiency on interpreting quality. It holds that the cultivation of native language should be enhanced in interpreting teaching in MTI program and puts forward some specific solutions in this regard.
