Inheriting and imitating the architectural elements of cloisters,the universities in the Middle Ages carried forward the self-governance of cloisters,with their organization structure and running deeply affected by the culture of cloisters.Compared with cloisters,the universities in the Middle Ages owned more autonomous rights,which made them gain more independence and freedom.While verifying and broadcasting the Christian faith,they promoted the development of New Values and guaranteed universities to pursue the idea and freedom of ' Knowledge for knowledge'.For modern universities,self-governance is still quite necessary and they must stand the foundation——Be Loyal to the Truth.Universities also need spiritual pursuit,universalism sensation and pursue the great values and ideas.Moreover,as the spiritual holy site,universities must provide a place which is compatible with their ideas.
