《三国志》是魏晋间的史学家陈寿所著。《三国志》的材料来源,一为魏、蜀、吴三国的现成史书,一为有关记录和多方调查、搜集得来的史料。陈寿以《魏书》前4卷“魏帝纪”作为全书的纲领。另对三国人物作了各种名目的品评。《三国志》取材谨严,剪裁得当,叙事有法,文笔简洁。《三国志》以其突出的成就奠定了它在文学发展史上的地位,对后世的文艺创作产生了很大影响,取材于《三国志》的戏曲小说数千计,三国故事也在民间广为流传,并越出国界,流传到日本与东南亚一带。

Annals of Three Kingdoms was written by Chen Shou, a historian between Wei and Jin Dynasties. The materials came from the ready - made history books of three Kingdoms: Wei, Shu and Wu, and relative records and various investigations and collections. Chen Shou took the first four volumes 'the Age oj Wei Emperor' in 'The book oj Wei' as the outline of the whole book.He attributed his commentary from multitude of items to the characters of Three Kingdoms. 'Annals of Three Kingdoms' is well-knit, exactly selected, well-narrated and brief composed.The book established its position in the development of historical study for its remarkable achievements and profoundly inflenced later literary creation. Thousands of dramas and novels are selected from Annals of Three Kingdoms . Stories of Three Kingdoms are very popular among the people and spread to Japan and Southern and eastern Asian countries.
