爱国主义与五四精神——从五四新文化运动谈起

Patriotism and the Spirit of the May 4th Movement

爱国主义是五四精神的动力源泉,民主、科学是五四精神的核心内容。民主、科学的口号之所以在新文化运动中被响亮地喊出,其深层原因应该到近代中国如火如荼的的爱国救亡运动中去寻找。今天,我们弘扬五四精神,必须正确处理诸如民主模式的民族性和历史性、民主与爱国的关系、中西文化关系等重要问题。对于新文化运动的文化观念,也应做客观、具体的分析。

Patriotism was the motive force and origin of the May 4lh Movement spirit, whose, core was Democracy and Science.During the New Culture Movement,Democracy and Science were raised.The further reason lies in the national salvation movement in modern China.Today,when carrying forward the May 4th spirit,we must correctly deal with the relations between the state of nation and the state of history; between democracy and patrio-tism,and between the east culture and the west culture. At the same time,we are supposed to make objective and close analysis at the modes of culture in the New Culture Move-ment.
