英汉习语中身体隐喻的认知对比分析

Comparative Study of Body Metaphors between English and Chinese Idioms

借鉴Lakoff和Johnson的概念隐喻理论,从认知和文化双重视角,对英汉习语中的身体部位概念隐喻及其隐喻表达进行对比分析。英汉习语中的身体隐喻表达在概念化过程中都具有相同的概念隐喻;英汉习语中身体隐喻在表达上具有相似性与差异性;英汉习语中身体隐喻在表达上的相似性与差异性可以从认知和文化的角度来阐释。

The current study drawing on the Conceptual Metaphor Theory put forward by Lakoff and John- son was attempted to explore the similarities and differences of body-part conceptual metaphors and their expressions and caused of that in English and Chinese idioms from a cognitive and cultural perspective. The illustration and analysis demonstrated that English and Chinese idioms share the same conceptual metaphors in the conceptualization of body features, the body-part metaphors in English and Chinese idi- oms have similarities and differences in terms of metaphors and their expressions and these similarities and the differences can be explained from both cognitive universality and cultural relativity.
