《点绛唇·丁未冬过吴松作》是一首吊古伤今的名作.词人登上吴江城楼,看到城外的第四桥,想到晚唐诗人陆龟蒙曾隐居于此,于是就产生了愿与陆龟蒙在这里共同隐居的愿望.但古人已去,致使词人无限惆怅.这种惆怅,是由于词人长年漂泊生活而引起的人生感触.这首词的最大特点是不以虚为虚,而以实为虚.

This is a very celebrated poem dealing with the eondolence for the past and discontent with the present. Having ascended Wu Jiang Rostnim and seen No 4 Bridge outside the town, the poet remembered Lu Guimeng, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty, who once lived there as a hermit and desired for a seclusive life with the poet. However, Lu had been dead and the poet felt boundless melaneholy The melancholy reveals his feelings about life as a resul t of the vagrant life for many years. The outstanding feature of the poem lies in his arts of emptiness not for emptmess but trumth for emptiness instead.
