改革开放后,中国图书馆事业走上复兴与开拓之路,重归世界图书馆事业发展之途,并在诸多方面取得重大成就:图书馆资源建设从恢复到发展,管理规范从回归到新建,业务工作从变革到超越,发展阶段从传统到现代,图书馆学专业教育从普及到提高,图书馆学学术研究从引进到创新,图书馆事业合作交流从偶然走向常态,图书馆事业发展反思从感性迈向理性。

After the reform and opening Chinese librarianship had enjoyed a revival, which returned to the development road of world library. And great achievements have been made in many aspects, such as the library resources construction from the recovery to development, management norms from the return to reinstitution, professional work beyond the change, developing from the traditional stage to a modem one, professional education from popularization to increase, academic research from introduction to innovation, library cooperation from accidental to normal, the reflection from perceptual to rational and so on.
