论晚清在琉球事件中的延宕外交

19世纪70年代,明治维新后的日本开始了吞并琉球的计划,正在为伊犁问题与俄国交涉的清政府,由于自身实力偏弱等因素,欲保全自己的宗主国地位,故推出了延宕外交,以期等待时机予以解决。但由于此后清政府周边问题不断,无暇顾及琉球问题,日本最终吞并琉球,这一事件极大地刺激了日本向外扩张的野心,同时让晚清政府对日本有了一个重新的认识,也是中国宗主权开始丧失的标志。

The 1870s, Japan started the program of Annexation of the Ryukyu after the Meiji Reformation. Because the Qing government were negotiating with Russia,the Qing government took delay diplomacy in order to keep their sovereign status.The Qing government had no energy against the Japanese due to the invasion from other countries. Japan annexed the Ryukyu at last. This incident had greatly stimulated the outward expansion of Japan＇s ambition, while allowing the late Qing government had a re-understanding of Japanese. It was also the mark that the suzerainty of China was beginning to lose.
