The essence of Whitehead＇s theory of Creative Synthetic Learning is to help to handle problems and educate and cultivate students in the process of adventures of ideas and generalizations of insights based on the community of problems. The core concepts of the theory have some important implications to Anglo-American literature teaching of English majors. Based on the educational theory,literature teachers and students seek the discovery of adventures in order to help students master the spirit of exploration and consciousness of critical thinking with common curiosity. In terms of specific class teachings,teachers should value the strategies of methodology and highlight the process education of canon reading,critical thinking and writing in order to realize the unique function of literature.
