儒家思想在春秋战国时期诞生,历经秦朝的打压、汉代的兴盛、宋代的分裂、明清的活跃、近代的扬弃以及现代的削弱与发展并存的过程。儒家思想兴盛的主要原因有政治因素、当时的思想文化形态、儒家思想自身发展和统治者的认同等几种因素。衰落的主要原因有儒家思想内部的变质、当时的文化危机和与主流统治思想相违背等等。

Confucianism was created in the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period ,to rise of crackdown af‐ter the Oin dynasty and Han dynasty ,to split in the Song dynasty ,to active in the Ming and Qing dynasties ,the discard of the modern and contemporary weaken and development process .Confucianism prosperity are the main reasons for politics ,ideology and culture forms at that time ,the Confucian thought of several factors such as the identity of their own development and rulers . The inside of the main reasons of the decline of Confucianism metamorphism ,the time of cultural crisis and mainstream runs counter to the dominant ideology .
