Socialist Essence Should be Comprehended at the Level of Aim

邓小平同志对社会主义本质的科学概括已经很长时间了,可人们对社会主义本质的理解和把握仍存在很多分歧。一般认为,对其内涵应从目标和手段两个层次来理解。可如果全面分析不难发现,从目标一个层次来理解和把握更科学。一方面,从目标和手段两个层次来理解有许多不足之处;另一方面,邓小平同志对社会主义本质的概括的确是从目标层次来进行的,这恰恰是邓小平同志对社会主义本质科学概括的独到和创新之处。

Most people think that we should comprehend it at two levels of aim and method. But if we analyze it all-sidedly, we can find that we should comprehend and hold it at only one level of aim. On one hand, there is much dissatisfaction to comprehend it at two levels of aim and method; on the other hand, Comrade Deng really summarized socialist essence at only one level of aim, which is just the original creation of socialist essence scientifically summarized by Deng Xiao-ping.
