非英语专业学生英语词汇“石化”的消解探究

A Study on Dispelling English Lexical Fossilization for Non-English Majors

英国著名语言学家塞林克于1972年首次在其发表的论文《中介语》一文中提出"石化"这一概念。随后国外研究者们从不同的角度对"石化"现象进行了深入研究。国内对"石化"现象的研究相对晚一些,而且只是介绍"石化"的相关理论,有关词汇"石化"消解的实证研究比较少。从认知语言学的原型及基本层次范畴理论出发,通过实验证明该理论对大学英语词汇"石化"具有明显的消解作用,并在此基础上对英语词汇教学提出一些建议。

Fossilization was first proposed by the famous British linguist Larry Selinker in his article Interlanguage in 1972. Foreign researchers and linguists have probed deeply into the study of the fossilization phenomenon from different perspectives. However, domestic researches on fossilization have started relatively a little late and just remain in the state of introducing foreign theories of fossilization. There are few empirical studies on dispelling lexical fossilization. The author of this paper analyzes lexical fossilization and proves that prototype and basic-level category theories play a very important role in dispelling lexieal fossilization. Based on the findings, the author proposes some suggestions for English teachers to dispel lexical fossilization in the hope that it can throw a light on English vocabulary teaching.
