"未来地球"(Future Earth)是最新推出的为期10年的全球环境变化大型国际科学计划。本文介绍了"未来地球"提出的背景,阐述和解读了"未来地球"的战略框架、研究主题以及能力建设的重点内容。在分析"未来地球"科学计划的特色和世界影响的基础上,结合十八大、十八届三中全会关于生态文明建设和"五位一体"总体部署的精神,以及我国可持续发展的进程、生态环境现状和地球科学进展,从科学支撑、学科融合、顶层设计、基础能力建设、国际合作五个方面分析了"未来地球"对我国可持续发展和地球系统科学集成的影响和启示。

Future Earth is a 10-year international research programme in terms of global environment change. The article presents the background, the strategical framework, the initial research themes and the cross-cutting capabilities of Future Earth. And then, based on the analysis of the characteristics and the influence of Future Earth, the article argues the progress of China＇s sustainable development and the advance in earth sciences, which are combined with the overall deployment of 18th CPC National Congress and The Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee. Furthermore, the article analyzes the influence and enlightenment about China sustainable development strategy and earth system sciences from scientific support, discipline integration, top design, capacity building, and international cooperation.
