基于语料库的英语名转动词研究

A Corpus-based Study of Noun-converted Verbs

名转动词(或者说名词动用)已有研究存在的局限主要表现在:未能区分词类活用与兼类的区别;观察充分性不足,语料的搜集限于Clark&Clark(1979);缺乏对其在不同体裁里的分布与发生频率的描写。本文在区分词类活用与兼类的基础上,基于"英国国家语料库"和朗文词典检索和统计该库实际存在的名转动词与案例,然后分析与描写名转动词在不同体裁中分布与发生频次,最后,从系统功能语言学之语境观对其在不同体裁的分布做出解释。

As for the study of noun-converted verbs, the limitations remain as follows：firstly, no distinction is made with respect to the innovation and denominal verbs; secondly, the lion＇ s share of cases or examples re- garding the issue is confined to Clark ＆ Clark （1979） ; thirdly, the inquiry of the noun-converted verbs suffers from the confinement to the isolated words or sentences, lacking in the description in terms of distribution and frequency in different genres. This paper, having made the concept clarification of the innovation and denominal verbs, picks up the words which are tagged as and only as nouns from Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English as query items in the British National Corpus to search for and identify the denominal verbs. Based on a quantity analysis, the author has presented the description of the said verbs in different genres in terms of de- scription and frequency. And finally from the perspective of systemic functional linguistics, the paper has ex- plained the noun-converted verbs regarding the distribution in different genres.
