Refractory chronic idiopathic urticaria is a common skin disease, the cause of which is unknown, and the response to conventional therapy is poor, the factors mentioned above afflict both the patients and doctors. Omalizumab is a new biological agent, which can inhibit allergic reaction effectively, frequently being used in the treatment of asthma, and occasionally in some refractory chronic idiopathic urticaria patients. For the confirmed effect of the medicine, more and more dermatologists began to pay attention to Omalizumab and incline to apply it in clinic. In this paper, the mechanism, clinical applications, therapeutic effect and adverse reactions of Omalizumab were reviewed.
