摘要
国际文凭课程起始于欧洲,正兴盛于美国。通常它被认为是私立的精英教育,唯独在美国有大批公立学校开设。本文梳理了国际文凭课程在美国的发展路径,探讨了课程发展的特点、兴盛的原因以及引发的争议。国际文凭课程在美国的成功不是偶然的,它同美国的教育制度和教育观有着必然的联系,应对我国高中教育改革有重要的启示意义。
The International Baccalaureate program was originated from Europe and is flourishing in the [3- hired States. The IB was regarded as a private elite education, but there are a large number of public IB schools in the U.S., which is quite unique. The analysis of this phenomenon in the U.S. context deserves considering for the current Chinese education. This paper reviews the general history of IB in the U.S., analyzes its basic characteristics, illustrates the controversies over the IB, and explores the reasons behind the flourishing. The development of the IB in the U.S. is not accidental, it is related to the American education culture and tradition, and these might be of some inspiration to Chinese high school reform.
