Castor oil is a kind of plant oils with unique properties,its molecule contains functional groups such as hydroxyl, ester group,ethylenic bond. Among these functional groups,single group can react to form castor oil derivatives,two or three groups of them also have different reactions to get special application of castor oil derivatives. Chemical reaction is summarized and classified according to the single group reaction. This article systematically introduces the reaction of the castor oil,briefly describes a variety of purposes of different products,comprehensively recommends castor oils basis chemistry knowledge,facilitates the design of the new chemical reaction and the development of new products,improves the castor oil deep processing technology.
