小议通假字的“本字”

On the Original Word of a Homophone

目前学术界对"本字"的看法各不相同,由此引发了对"本字"认识的混乱;传统上往往直接从"本字"入手去界定通假字,从而陷入对通假字及其本字认识的误区;只要从通假字的特点"临时性"这个角度入手,才能正确认识通假现象,进而得出通假字的本字是某词的常规用字这个属性,并且要从本质上把通假字与其他用字现象区分开。

Scholars hold different opinions on ＂the original word＂ of a homophone, which lead to a chaotic understanding as well as interpretation on this issue. Traditionally, the original word is used to define homophone directly. This approach creates a wrong idea of homophones and their original words. A homophone being used to mean another word that sounds the same is temporary in nature, and thus a distinction may be made between this phenomenon and other phenomenon of using words.
