摘要
Shapiro和Dent-Young的《水浒传》英译版均为中国典籍翻译的成功范例。笔者尝试运用系统功能语言学中的语篇理论对两英译本进行比较分析。结果发现,两译本在主位结构方面与原文保持同步,而在信息结构及推进、语篇衔接手段使用方面却存在较大差异。
The English versions of Shuihu Zhuan translated by Shapiro and John and Alex Dent-Young are the prominent samples of success in the translation of Chinese Classical literary works. The authors attempt to carry out a comparision and analysis of the two versions by applying the TEXT theory in Systemic Functional Linguistics. The analysis reveals that the two versions precisely synchronize the original text in thematic structure while there are discrepancies in the establishment of information structure and progressing and in the use of text cohesion.
