摘要
作为弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的姐夫及早年的文学顾问与终生挚友,克莱夫·贝尔以"有意味的形式"为代表的美学观对伍尔夫的现代主义小说实验产生了深刻影响。但伍尔夫并未陷入贝尔偏激而武断的对于纯粹形式的追求,而是移植了"块面""图式""空白"等视觉艺术中的形式要素,出色地表达了丰富的社会文化"意味",有效地实现了"有意味的形式"在文学领域内的平移。
As Virginia Woolf's brother-in-law,literary adviser in her early days and lifelong friend,Clive Bell had profound impact on the experiments of Woolf's modernist novels with his aesthetic thoughts represented by the 'significant form'. Luckily,Woolf was not lost in pursuing the purity of the form radically and arbitrarily as Bell did,she has made outstanding expressions on the rich 'significance ' of the social culture with these form elements such as'mass','shape','rhythm'and'space',shifting the'significant form'from the field of visual art to the field of literature effectively.
