It is a widely-accepted understanding that a dangling participle is a common grammatical error in English,thus it should be avoided;nevertheless,differences still exist among grammarians in terms of the acceptability of some dangling participles.This paper lists the main examples of dangling participles,analy-zes their causes,and in particular boldly puts forward some new points of view and proposals on the accepta-bility of some dangling participles.
