劉郁《〔常德〕西使記》校注

Commentary on Record of Chang De's Mission to the West

元憲宗九年(1259),旭烈兀分地彰德路宣課使常德受命前往西亞覲見領主。歸來後講述其行程以及所見聞旭烈兀西征史事以及西域地理人情,由劉郁記録成《西使記》。筆者試圖對此一重要歷史文獻作進一步全面、細緻的研究,在文本校勘,常德生平及其行程,尤其是旭烈兀西征及其征服木剌夷、哈里發和西亞諸省區的相關人物、史事和地理,給出周詳的注釋,希望能對前賢的相關著作有所補充或訂正。

In the ninth year of Mngge Qahan(1259),Chang De,the levy commissioner of Hülegü's fiefdom Zhang De circuit,accepted a mission to Western Asia for having an audience of the feudal lord. After his return,he narrated his journey,and the historical events about Hülegü's expedition to the West,geographical condition and customs of the western regions that he had seen or heard. His report was written down by Liu Yu as Record of a Mission to the West. The author attempts to make further comprehensive and thorough investigation on this important historical document,offering more detailed and precise historical and geographical comments on Chang De's life and his journey,on Hülegü's expedition against the Mulahid and the‘Abbsid Caliphate,as well as his conquest of other provinces or kingdoms inWest Asia,and hopes these will be available for complementing or correcting predecessor's related works in some aspects.
