Depression is a great burden for patients, patients’ families and the society. Nowadays, people are desiring for better mental health, so it is very important for early recognition and treatment of depression, which also is a necessary condition to improve the quality of life. It was known that 5-HTTLPR was associated with depression, which may be one effective indicator of susceptibility and antidepressant treatment response to depression. This article concluded the relationship of 5-HTTLPR and the susceptibility with antidepressant efficacy response to depression.
