在20世纪二三十年代中国乡村危机日趋严重之际,乡村建设思潮及其社会运动应运而起。在近代中国乡村建设历史进程中,华北农村建设协进会的历史角色和时代特征均值得关注。在众多社会组织和机构中,能够从国际视角并形成国际性影响的乡村建设组织,则当属华北农村建设协进会。将其置于整个乡村建设历史演变轨迹中,我们不难发现它所具有的特殊意义。

When rural crisis happened in the 1920s and 1930s, there were many rural reconstruction movements at rural place. The North China Council For Rural Reconstruction was sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation, which was the new development of rural reconstruction movement. The Council was the representative of the cooperation between China and America, which had its special significance in history of the rural reconstruction movement.
