本文试图探讨我国以国家公祭的形式祭奠南京大屠杀死难者的合理性及必要性，以及国家公祭日的设立对以侵华日军南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆为例的灾难博物馆的功能发挥起到的积极作用，主要从灾难博物馆功能中纪念与凭吊、见证与警示、科普与科研三个方面阐述。
