Beyond Existence——An Exploration to the Design of Community of Urban Low-income Earners

本文试图探讨在高速城市化背景下,如何更好地解决城市低收入者居住的适宜途径和方法。通过对近期的相关理论和实践的梳理,介绍了"城中村"的改造(改良),新里巷运动,以及万科的土楼实践和"极小空间"概念。认为对城市弃地(城市边角料)的有效利用和对原有聚落的改造(改良)不失为应对当前大量城市低收入者居住矛盾的较好方法。通过精心的规划设计以及对"四个极致"概念的贯彻,可能达成一种城市低收入者良好居住的可能,并通过作者参与和指导的两个概念设计案例,展示和回应了上述观点。

This article intends to explore the potential ways to create better housing and community for the city＇s low-incomes. It introduces some interesting theory and practice of this field in current China, such as ＂The revival of old urban village＂, ＂The new community movement＂ and the experimental theory and practice of Wanko（the largest developer in China） in this field. Also, it explains the author＇s two current conceptual designs for the community of the city＇s low-incomes. The author believes that to effectively use the city＇s waste land and to revive the old urban village with suitable design techniques can play an important role in making a better accommodation for the city＇s low-incomes.
