摘要
1995年联合国第四次世界妇女大会上，中国将“男女平等”确立为实现社会发展的一项基本国策，体现了党和国家对妇女地位的尊重和对妇女工作的重视。2012年，党的十八大首次将“坚持男女平等基本国策，保障妇女儿童合法权益”写入报告，为在社会生活各个领域全面贯彻落实男女平等基本国策提供了重要遵循和坚强保障。
uring the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing in 1995, China decided gender equality would be one of the nation＇s basic State policies. That decision showed the world that the Communist Party of China （CPC） and the Chinese Government attached great importance to the improvement of Chinese women＇s social status,and to the development of women＇s unde rtakingsin China.
