摘要
During the past few years, the Dazhou （a city in Southwest China＇s Sichuan Province） Municipal Government has done the following to create a favorable environment to foster the healthy growth and development of more than 400,000 left-behind children （whose parents have left home to work elsewhere）： Included work of helping and caring for the children in the municipal government＇s projects of improving people＇s livelihoods. The government has provided social security and medical services to the children, and it has offered financial assistance to children from poverty-stricken families （to cover part of their tuition）.
