FOR Wang Zhanshuo, a graduate in industrial engineering from Beijing＇s renowned Tsinghua University, after-graduation life went totally off the beaten track. Instead of going out to find plum placements in the lob market, the 21-year-old set off for Kenya with six classmates in July 2014 to work as volunteers. They took clothes, educational kits and other materials collected from donors in China to primary schools and a nature reserve in Kenya, offering to help out.
