翻译中的注释问题

On Annotation in Translation

译者在翻译这种跨文化交际活动中起着重要的作用,即是改写者又是再创造者。为了解决翻译时遇到的不同文化现象,译者需要采取注释的方法。文章首先阐述了注释的作用,并提出了翻译中注释的四个基本原则,最后比较了加注和解释性翻译,以便译者在翻译活动中依据多种因素做出选择。

A translator, also named as a rewriter or re-creator, plays an important role in implementing the intercultural activity—translation. In order to deal with culture-bound problems, he or she can employ the translation method of annotation. This paper first expounds the meaning of annotation, then puts forward four basic principles for annotation, and finally compares the translator＇s notes with explanatory translation with the intention of helping the translator choose any of the two translating strategies with translating factors taken into consideration.
