GHG reduction and low-carbon economy are the world issues in environment protection. Bamboo resources play a unique role in low-carbon economic development. The paper analyzed the low-carbon advantage of bamboo particularly in terms of bio-ecological property, carbon-fixation and temperature reduction, and processing and utilization. It was pointed out that low-carbon concept would necessarily promote bamboo industry development and become the new economic engine in poverty mountainous areas.
