On the Questions of Some Differences in the Reform

改革开放是我们党在新的时代条件下带领人民进行的新的伟大革命,是当代中国最鲜明的特色。在改革的重大原则问题上存在着一系列分歧:为什么要改革的分歧;改革的方向问题的分歧;"改什么"与"不改什么"的分歧。这些分歧,归根结底,是历史唯物主义与历史唯心主义这两种世界观、方法论的斗争的表现。这种斗争决定着我国社会主义制度的前途和命运。

The reform and the opening -up policy are the great new revolution to which our Party leads the people in the new era.It is the most distinctive feature of contemporary China. In the reform, some different ideas about important principles are exist-ing： the differences about the reasons for the reform; about the direction of the reform; about ＂what should be reformed＂ and＂what should not be reformed＂. These differences, in the final analysis, are the struggle for world outlook and methodology inhistorical materialism and the historical idealism. This struggle determines the future and destiny of the socialist system in China.
