Several Scales to Assess the Historical Value of Deng Xiaoping

从三个视角即中国传统的"立德、立功、立言"的视角、目前世界发展主流状态的"现代化"理论和实践的角度、当前世界所公认的"爱国主义"价值准则的视角来考察邓小平的历史价值,都一致表明:邓小平是中国历史上的一个大政治家、大爱国者,是对中华民族发展作出重大贡献的划时代的人物。

This paper tends to evaluate Deng Xiaoping’s historical value through three Chinese traditionalperspectives such as “moral composition, rendering meritorious service, expounding ideas in writing”. It isindicated from the perspective of “modernization” theory and practice which is the development mainstreamof the present world and the perspective of “patriotism” which is recognized as the popular value criterionthat Deng Xiaoping is a great statesman and patriot in Chinese history, and also an epoch-making figure thatmakes major contributions to the development of the Chinese nation.
