Complementation and Win-Win: The Future of Comparative Literature,World Literature,and Translation Studies

21世纪的比较文学会走向何处?这不仅是比较文学研究者相当关心的问题,也是许多国别文学研究者不能不在意的问题。本文试图从对翻译的不同理解入手,分析比较文学、世界文学和翻译研究的影响此消彼长之中的一些原因,并提出比较文学是这三门学科的制度基础,翻译研究是这三门学科未来发展的学术基础,达姆罗什式的世界文学可能是这三门学科未来的道德基础。

The future of comparative literature concerns not only comparativists but also students of national literature. From the perspective of the function of translation,this paper aims at exploring the principles governing the vicissitudes of comparative literature,world literature,and translation studies. It concludes that comparative literature functions as the institutional foundation for the other two fields,translation studies serve as the academic foundation,and world literature as proposed by David Damrosch as the moral foundation.
